Your right to your own expert
If you have been involved in a motorcycle accident that was not your fault, you may choose the expert yourself. The other party’s insurer is obliged to compensate the damage in such a way that the original condition of your vehicle can be restored – on request also as a notional settlement, if that works out better for you.
Our experts establish the exact extent of the damage so that you can assert it against the other party’s insurer. If you wish, we handle the negotiation with the insurer as well.
Why more breaks on a two-wheeler than you can see
Around 2.5 million accidents happen on German roads every year. On a motorcycle, one drop is enough to damage the forks, the frame, the steering head bearing or attached parts – and often all you can see is a scratch on the fairing. If that is not documented, you notice at the latest when you sell.
We determine the repair costs and the diminished market value neutrally. On youngtimers, collector’s items and elaborately built machines in particular, the diminished value makes up the largest part of the loss.
The duty to mitigate loss – and what a report costs
Right at the accident scene, the „duty to mitigate loss“ is readily invoked to take the decisions out of your hands. That duty does not mean you have to do without your own report.
After an accident that was not your fault, the expert’s fees form part of the recoverable loss and are borne by the other party’s insurer. Only for minor damage does a repair estimate suffice – we point that out beforehand.
Condition report
Don’t rely on list values
Do you want to know how your motorcycle really stands before a purchase or a sale? General list values and online estimates know neither the state of care nor the modifications nor the damage from standing. Our two-wheeler experts look at the machine instead of estimating it.
The inspection takes place where you are. Serious defects and technical irregularities are recorded systematically and documented in the report – with photographs, so that the finding also holds up in a negotiation.
