Condition Report

Motorcycle Condition Report

170,00 €
incl. VAT, travel costs by arrangement

On a two-wheeler the value sits in details that never appear in a sales photo: the chain and sprockets, brake disc thickness, tire age, the originality of the fitted parts, and the question of whether the machine has been down before. The condition report records all of that in writing and in photographs, for motorcycles, scooters, light motorcycles and two-wheelers of every kind. You receive a signed record of the as-is condition together with a value assessment that builds confidence when selling and protects you from an expensive surprise when buying.

What the condition report covers

  • Traces of earlier falls: ground-down bar ends, footrest assemblies and exhaust edges, replaced fairing panels, deviating paint shades, repainted add-on parts, straightening marks on the triple clamp and frame. An earlier fall is rarely documented but almost always readable, if you know where a machine touches down first.
  • Drive and transmission: chain, front and rear sprockets checked for wear and elongation, chain slack and alignment; on scooters the drive belt, variator and rollers; on shaft-drive machines the final drive and its seals. A chain kit that is due is a concrete figure that has a bearing on the price.
  • Brakes and tires: brake discs measured against the minimum thickness stamped on them, pad thickness, condition of the brake fluid, lines and calipers. On the tires what counts is tread, age by DOT code, flat spots and cracks in the sidewall, because on a two-wheeler everything rests on two small contact patches.
  • Originality and modifications: what was fitted at the factory and what was added later, from the exhaust system through handlebars, indicators and suspension to the seat and luggage system. We record whether parts run under a German type approval or a parts certificate, and whether the entry in the vehicle documents has actually been made.
  • Time standing and seasonal use: the effects of long winter breaks and seasonal registration, meaning battery condition, corrosion on fasteners, spokes and the exhaust system, ageing of brake fluid and tires, and deposits in the carburetor or injection system. A machine that has been ridden little is not automatically a well-preserved one.
  • Mechanics and history: cold-start behavior, engine running, oil and cooling system, electrics, fault memory on machines with ABS or control systems, plus the plausibility of the odometer reading, the service record book and maintenance receipts.
  • Value assessment: classification within the current two-wheeler market taking account of model year, mileage, accessories and standard of care, as a basis for an asking price, a purchase decision or cover with your insurer.

How it works

  1. Enquiry: you give us the model, year, mileage and the reason – sale, an intended purchase, or documenting what you own. We arrange an appointment, and where you are considering a purchase we can come to the seller directly.
  2. Inspection: visual inspection on the stand and on a lift, measurement of brake discs and tires, checking of the chain kit, steering head bearings, forks and frame for impact and straightening marks, and engine running both cold and warm.
  3. Documentation: photo documentation of all relevant areas, a list of defects by urgency, a record of accessories and modifications including their registration status, and a closing value assessment.
  4. Delivery: you receive the report digitally, as a rule on the same business day once it is complete, on request with a copy for the buyer, the seller or your insurer.

The condition report is prepared for a fixed price, with no additional billing by time spent. We agree the travel arrangements in advance.

Frequently asked questions

Can an earlier fall be detected once the fairing has long since been replaced?

Usually, yes. New bodywork on a used machine is itself an indication. Add to that marks on the footrests, bar ends, levers and exhaust, mismatched fastener heads and straightening marks on the frame. We check these areas specifically and record what we find.

I want to buy a used machine. Can this be done before the purchase?

That is exactly what the report is for. We carry out the inspection at the seller's and document the chain kit, brakes, tire age, impact marks and the registration status of any modifications. You know before you pay what is coming up and whether the asking price fits.

Do registered modifications reduce the value?

That depends on the part and on the buyer. High-quality accessories with proper registration can support the price, while heavily individualized modifications narrow the field of buyers. We describe both factually, so that you can justify your asking price rather than defend it.

Is a condition report enough after damage as well?

No. After an accident involving another party you need a damage appraisal that quantifies the repair route, diminished value and downtime. The condition report describes the as-is condition where there has been no loss event and serves purchase, sale and documentation of how the machine has been kept.
